I’m Richard Poelderl. I live in Berlin, where I build the future.

My journey has been anything but conventional. I initially wanted to be a senior executive at a big corporate. That didn't go well. It left me craving more: more creativity, more impact, and above all, more autonomy.

I then decided to foray into startups. I started my first project 'StartGut' while working my nine-to-five job and knew this was for me. In wanting to learn growth and user acquisition, I later became Director of Acquisition for the Italian marketplace ProntoPro.

However, after working the job for a couple of years, I realised that I wanted more. Led by a desire to build and create, I decided to teach myself how to code so that I could create apps for users.

After I spent a year learning to code, I joined the Bay Area startup called On Deck as a software engineer, where I built tools for their community of founders.

Today, I’m dividing my time between freelancing as a web developer and working on my new project: Procurato. The projects aims to reduce the beauracracy and friction around running a company in Germany.
